Buddy Perry of Milford was arrested around 9 p.m. Monday after officers responded to the area of Grove Circle for a report of a domestic violence in progress, said Officer Joseph Dempsey.
When police arrived on the scene an investigation led to the arrest of Perry who is accused of holding the female in the vehicle and striking her, police said.
Dempsey said a further investigation showed Perry had two active warrants for violating his court-ordered probation.
He was charged with assault, unlawful restraint and violation of a protective order. He is being held on $50,000 bond.
